Covid-19 Update: Mask Requirement at Public Masses As you undoubtedly know, on Tuesday July 7, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine mandated that face coverings are now required in public for all those in Hamilton, Butler, and Montgomery Counties. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati followed the Governor’s lead, and as of Wednesday July 8, required masks for all those attending Mass in any of those counties. Since Ascension is in Montgomery County, we intend to comply with the directives of Governor DeWine and Archbishop Schnurr. Thank you for wearing a mask to Mass at Ascension, and for your care for public safety and the common good. As per the Archbishop's directives, the dispensation of the Sunday obligation will continue until at least August. Because we care about both your physical and spiritual health, we are livestreaming all daily and weekend Masses going forward. See the "Watch Mass Live" link below to view Mass live. You can also watch later in the day by clicking on the "Archives" link The Parish Office has returned to our regular hours: 8:30AM-4:00PM M-F. The church will be open for daily Mass Monday thru Friday. (9:00 AM M, W, Th, F; 6PM T). If you wish to use the church for personal prayer while it's closed, please come to the Parish Office, and we'll be happy to let you in! We've marked off the pews to create social distancing at public Masses. Please sit in pews with the green tape to your back, and make sure to sit 6ft from anyone who does not live in your household. Thanks! To help you decide whether or not you're ready to return to public Masses, we're publishing the attendance at each weekend Mass. Church capacity is normally 800, but with social distancing, we are closer to 200, including the simulcast in the Witzman Center. Attendance for the Weekend of July 11/12: 5:00PM - 139, 8:30AM - 109, 11:00AM - 115 This summer, Ascension's Big Summer Read is going digital! In past years, our Big Summer Read has kicked off with in-person meetings here at the parish and included small group gatherings here as well. This year, in order to accomodate the safety concerns surrounding Covid-19, we're going digital. For more info, click the picture below. If you are not able to come to church to take a tag from the tree, we understand; and so we are providing a list of items that Catholic Social Services has told us are greatly needed at this time. Simply purchase any items you choose from that list and drop them off at the Parish Office before July 15. This year's needs include fire extinguishers, plus a variety of personal care items, baby items, bedding and cleaning supplies.
